Fellowship-trained spine surgeon now seeing patients in Montgomery, Prattville, and Wetumpka.
Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons (SOS) continues to expand access to advanced orthopedic care in the River Region with the addition of orthopedic spine surgeon Milo Sanda, DO. Dr. Sanda brings specialized expertise in both non-surgical spine care and the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques, including endoscopic spine surgery.
Patients can see Dr. Sanda in Montgomery, Prattville, and Wetumpka, increasing access to specialized spine care throughout Central Alabama. He performs surgical procedures at both Jackson Surgery Center and Baptist Medical Center South, giving patients more options for where they receive care.
One of Dr. Sanda’s specialties is endoscopic spine surgery, an innovative minimally invasive procedure that allows surgeons to treat many spinal conditions through a small incision using a specialized camera and instruments. Compared to traditional open procedures, endoscopic techniques are designed to minimize muscle disruption, reduce postoperative pain, and help many patients return to normal activities sooner.
In addition to surgery, Dr. Sanda provides comprehensive spine care with a focus on exhausting conservative treatment whenever appropriate. His practice includes advanced image-guided spinal injections, radiofrequency ablation, and individualized treatment plans designed to relieve pain while helping patients avoid surgery whenever possible.

As the practice prepares for its planned state-of-the-art Southern Orthopaedic Surgery Center, currently approved through Alabama’s Certificate of Need process, patients will have expanded access to advanced outpatient orthopedic procedures in a state-of-the-art, single-specialty ambulatory surgery center designed specifically for musculoskeletal care. The facility is planned to incorporate advanced modular surgical lighting and air purification technology designed to create an exceptionally clean operating environment and help reduce the risk of infection and contamination. The addition of advanced spine procedures, including endoscopic spine surgery, will further broaden the comprehensive surgical services planned for the facility.
