Dr. Tucker Mattox is a Montgomery native and has spent his career caring for orthopedic patients in the community he calls home. He earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Auburn University and his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine at UAB. He completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Mattox is a general orthopedic surgeon with experience treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. A significant part of his practice is devoted to workers’ compensation and work-related injuries. His experience with workers’ compensation patients means he understands that recovering from a work injury involves not only treating the injury itself, but also helping patients regain the function needed for their jobs and daily lives.
His practice also includes knee and shoulder conditions, hand and lower extremity injuries, arthritis, and joint pain. When surgery is needed, his expertise includes knee and shoulder arthroscopy, hand surgery, and MAKO robotic-assisted total knee replacement.
Dr. Mattox is married to Susie and they have two children. Outside of medicine, he enjoys staying active by jogging, biking, hunting, and spending time on the lake.
