Dr. Hester graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then graduated from Medical School at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he was a Justin Potter Scholar, recipient of the Kaufman Prize in Medicine, and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a national honor society for medicine. Dr. Hester completed his internship and Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Hester is now an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Montgomery Campus.

Dr. Hester is from Montgomery, Alabama. He is married to Lee Ann, and they have three children- Ann, Catherine, and Will. In Dr. Hester’s free time he enjoys reading and all outdoor activities. He has served as an Elder and Sunday school teacher at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Dr. Hester was also named 2009 Montgomery Man of the Year by the YMCA, and Outstanding Eagle Scout by the National Eagle Scout Society.
